Show Me Don't Tell Me

Though Halloween has passed us by... Take a stab at using your senses to help the following boring quotes come to life!  Remember to help me visualize the scenario rather then tell me about it.

  1. When she walked through the graveyard she was scared.
  2. We carved the jack-o-lantern. It was gross inside.
  3. With seconds remaining he caught the game winning touchdown and the crowd cheered.
  4. The student was nervous for the big exam.
  5. It was cold outside.

MARS Report for the week of November 7th

This week... be sure to post one post on your current independent reading book and one comment on a classmates.    Be sure to copy and paste your responses into a word document that you save.  That way when I audit you to grade your posts... it is all set and ready to go!

MARS Report for the Week of October 26th

Choose ONE  metacognition strategy to report on your independent reading novel at home.  Remember this is what you notice/wonder, question, infer, predict, visualize, or connect to while reading.  Whatever metacognition strategy you choose to report on, be sure to support your response with enough evidence from the text and or your own background knowledge or experience.
Be sure to write your MARS report in the following manner:

TITLE OF BOOK
METACOGNITION SKILL
YOUR NAME

M.A.R.S Report

Metacognition Active Reading Strategy (M.A.R.S)

What do you Notice/Wonder, Question, Infer, Predict, Visualize, or Connect with when reading?
Remember to always prove your answers with supporting evidence from you book and/or personal experiences or background knowledge.
